Wednesday - woohoo

Mōrena koutou

So many clever people took up the 30 minute challenge yesterday, I loved hearing about eggs not breaking and seeing photos of towers!

Today is my sweet Bobby's second Birthday so I may be a bit slower at replying to emails as I'll be showering him with love and attention (and eating birthday cake!) 🎈🎂

On that note, tomorrow is our wonderful Kingston's birthday. If anyone wants to draw him a picture or write him a card and send me a photo I can pass these on for you.

Form Drawing:
Form 6:
Start with a circle. Next mark six points evenly spaced around the circle. Then draw a hexagon from the dots you've (lightly) marked. Now, mark the center point and grow six lines reaching out to the corners of your hexagon.
Now that your form is drawn, we need to colour it in, you'll need your coloured pencils. Start at the corners, colouring in straight lines all in the same direction, pushing harder with your pencil, then softer as you grow closer to the center. You will need three different colours.

Spelling:
How many words can you find with the letters from each of this week's words? Each letter can only be used once, if you’ve got scrabble you can use the letter tiles to help.

Daily math:
Well done to all of our mathematicians, good job to those who sent me their work - Hans, Ciaran, Ari, Ocean, Niamh, Briar, Sian, Sujan, Dylan

Today's math:

1. Addition:

2. Subtraction

3. Subtraction - regrouping (borrowing)

4. Multiplication

5. Multiplication word problem - yes it says miles, just pretend it says km

Writing:
Letter of gratitude.
Take a moment to think about the people that you are grateful for ... Who do you feel thankful toward? It may be a family member who is looking after you during this time, a friend or a neighbour. Brainstorm examples of people who help us every day but who may not get the recognition they deserve — for example, supermarket workers, firefighters, police officers, nurses, etc.
Sending or gifting them a card or letter can be a meaningful way to show gratitude.
Task:
Write a letter to someone you are thankful for in your life
Don't forget!
  • An appropriate greeting
  • A statement of appreciation (e.g., Thank you for the work you do to keep our community safe.)
  • Specific details about the person’s impact
  • An appropriate closing and signature

Handwork:

Beautiful work your clever classmates have sent me:

Have a wonderful Wednesday everybody, missing you all dearly!
