Who is the first person or thing you are going to visit on Thursday once we are in level 2? For me it is my grandparents. They have been locked away in their retirement village and are missing everyone so much. We have been video calling them every few days, we even had them at Bobby's party to watch him blow out the candles on his cake via video call. But, as great as video calling is and has been to keep us all connected during this time, it just isn't the same as seeing people in real life. The second stop is the playground, at Dotty's request.
Form drawing:
Form 11:
Start with a circle that takes up about half of the height of your page, then add the same size circle below, touching. Next add a small circle in each of the two circles, making sure they are the same size as each other. Then once you have the little circle in the large circle I want you to make another one slightly bigger than the last...
I found it helped to turn my page on the side, getting a different perspective helped to see if my circles were round (turns out they were a bit lopsided, luckily I used light lines and could rub them out to adjust my circles). Keep adding layers and growing your circles. You'll end up with 5 circles on each side, 10 in total.
Once you have drawn all your circles and you are happy with their shape and sizes you can colour them in...
And then you'll end up with something like this!
Spelling:
How many words can you find with the letters from each word from this week's list? Each letter can only be used once, if you’ve got scrabble you can use the letter tiles to help.

Did you all see the project yesterday? How are you going with it? This is a week long project and I won't be giving you much else other than this, form drawing, spelling and daily math each day. I hope that the level of work you put in reflects the amount of time I have given you. I also understand that some people will be able to do more than others. Think about your ideas and I'll have a template you can fill out on Monday morning before we share if this is you.
Week 5 project:
Look at the wonderful work you have sent me:When we get back to school I would like to commemorate this time at home, and all the hard work you have done, by having each class member give a small presentation.Information for you to include in your presentation:
- What were the positives of your time at home?
- What were the struggles during your time at home?
- What is something you have learned about yourself during this time?
- What is your favourite piece (or pieces) of mahi (work), and why?
- Was there an aspect of Home Learning that you found a struggle?
Possible ways to present:Speech ( 2- 5 minutes long)Using the information above to help you write a speech about your rahui/lockdown.Useful Tips:• Practice reading your speech in front of the mirror or in front of people you are comfortable with.• Remember to keep your head up and try to project your voice to the back of the room- everybody wants to be able to hear you.• Be confident and believe in yourself!PosterUse a large piece of paper ( A3 preferably) and use the questions above to help you design you posters for the class to see.BookletDesign your own little booklet and answer the questions above. Don't forget to add some beautiful illustrations to accompany your questions.BookWrite your findings to the questions above into an exercise book. Don't forget to add a beautiful border around your work and some beautiful illustrations to accompany your questions.Finished, you should have:
- Written a draft answering the questions above.
- Edited your work.
- If you have chosen to write a speech make sure you have written your speech onto cue cards (cut up paper) and practiced on a family member (or call someone)
