Terrific Tuesday

Mōrena koutou

I am so happy and excited that we will go to level 2 on Thursday, which means that we can be back at school on Monday next week! I can't wait to see you all in person, hear your voices and catch up on what wonderful things you have been doing.

In light of us all coming back together I have something I'd like you to work on for the rest of the week...

Week 5 project:

When we get back to school I would like to commemorate this time at home, and all the hard work you have done, by having each class member give a small presentation.
Information for you to include in your presentation:
  • What were the positives of your time at home?
  • What were the struggles during your time at home?
  • What is something you have learned about yourself during this time?
  • What is your favourite piece (or pieces) of mahi (work), and why?
  • Was there an aspect of Home Learning that you found a struggle?
Possible ways to present:
Speech ( 2- 5 minutes long)
Using the information above to help you write a speech about your rahui/lockdown.
Useful Tips:
 • Practice reading your speech in front of the mirror or in front of people you are comfortable with.
 • Remember to keep your head up and try to project your voice to the back of the room- everybody wants to be able to hear you.
 • Be confident and believe in yourself!
Poster
Use a large piece of paper ( A3 preferably) and use the questions above to help you design you posters for the class to see.
Booklet
Design your own little booklet and answer the questions above. Don't forget to add some beautiful illustrations to accompany your questions.
Book
Write your findings to the questions above into an exercise book. Don't forget to add a beautiful border around your work and some beautiful illustrations to accompany your questions.
Finished, you should have:
  • Written a draft answering the questions above.
  • Edited your work.
  • If you have chosen to write a speech make sure you have written your speech onto cue cards (cut up paper) and practiced on a family member (or call someone)

Form drawing:

Form 10

For today's form I want you to start with a big circle. Then as we did yesterday we are going to add more circles growing each time, but today we are going to add more circles than we did yesterday, so we need to make each one closer to the last. You will end up with ten circles. Once you have drawn all your circles it's time to add colour, try and do colours that are similar, so that as your circles grow they change from one colour to the next with not a lot of difference...

I made a time lapse video for you of me doing this form...

Spelling:
Write each of your week 5 words into sentences.

Daily math:
Well done to Hans, Ciaran, Annie, Sujan, Ari, Sian, Niamh, Briar, Dylan

Today's math:
1. Addition

2. Subtraction

3. Subtraction - regrouping (borrowing)

4. Multiplication

5. Word problem
