Our last day in our Treehouse - Friday

Ata mārie ki a koutou

Today I'm at school getting all set up ready for your return on Monday, I've got a huge big smile thinking of seeing you all again. I'm sure you've all grown at least 30 cm and your hair has grown to your knees, well, at least it feels like it's been that long anyway. Some of you may be feeling a little nervous about coming back to school, that's normal, we've not left our houses for nearly 2 months! Please know that I want to make things as wonderful and lovely for you at school as possible. It's kind of like the first day back after the summer holidays, except with less travel stories....

Your school work for today is pretty light, I won't be with my laptop during my usual time of 8:30-10:30 to answer questions but will get to them when I can.

Form drawing:

Form 13:

Start with one big circle, the create 4 circles within it that all just about meet at the center point... I mark out the line where I want the circle to go then bring it out to meet the outside edge of the big circle.

Then you have 5 circles...

But we need more, so make a small circle inside each of the 4 medium sized circles.

Choose two colours that are similar, I went for light and dark blue, colour the top and bottom medium sized circles the same colour and the two on the sides the other colour.

Then I want you pick another two similar colours, I chose pink and orange. Colour the top and bottom small circles the same colour and the two side circles the other colour.

Lastly, pick two more similar colours, I chose light and dark green. Colour opposite sides on the diagonal the same colour, the the last two sides the other colour.

Then you should hopefully have something that looks a wee bit like this...

Spelling:
You know what Friday means... spelling test day!

Thursday

Kia ora dear whānau

Welcome to our second to last day of learning in the treehouse. I haven't put a lot in today, just the usual form drawing, spelling and math so that you can work on your presentations for Monday. Hopefully some of you may be able to get together for a play date, others will probably carry on as usual, some will go out visiting relatives, and some will do other exciting things. Whatever your day holds, I hope you enjoy doing it.

Form drawing:

Form 12:

Start with a big circle, then add a small circle at the top, and another at the bottom.

Next I want you to find the midpoint of the big circle and make two more circles that almost meet in the middle. Then make another two circles, this time they will almost reach the small circle on the other side, see where my pencil is? That is about the distance you need from the small circle...

Next you are going to do the last two circles, these ones come into the small circle on the other side about two thirds in, see where my pencil is this time? That's where the line will go.

Now, colour! Pick colours that look good blended, as they are going to overlap. I've chosen a range of yellow to blue and greens in the middle.... Outline your lines, then fill your gaps carefully.

I've added photos of my stages in colouring, this is a bit tricky...

But then if you persevere you should hopefully end up with something like this at the end!

Look at the wonderful work I was sent yesterday, clever people!

You probably only need one guess of who created this very clever clip, it has over 100 pictures in it and she made it all by herself... Our extremely talented master of dragons, Fiona!

Have a wonderful day, wash your hands, and I'll see you all tomorrow for our LAST DAY IN THE TREEHOUSE!!!
